Where can I find authentic Mexican food in New York?

Monday, April 7th, 2008
youngpapifrom518 asked:

I’m an American of Puerto Rican descent, but I never in my life had authentic Mexican food.I know for damn sure, that taco bell is not real Mexican food.Taco bell is Americanized Mexican food,it’s not the real stuff.Puerto Rican and Mexicans don’t eat the same food,we are way different people.I live in New York and in New York the majority of Hispanics in New York are Puerto Ricans. Most Mexicans live in the south west,so it’s very difficult to find a real Mexican restaurant, because most Hispanic restaurants are either Puerto Rican,Dominican, and some Cuban restaurants.

Why does New York get to collect sales tax in the UN gift shop?

Friday, April 4th, 2008
EmilyRose asked:

I went on a tour of the UN headquarters in New York yesterday, and the guide said the building was not considered US territory, and that we left the country when we entered the grounds of the building. But I also noticed that when I bought a key ring in the gift shop I payed New York sales tax. Given that the gift shop is in the UN building, which is not part of the United States, let alone New York, why does New York get to collect sales tax on items sold there?
