What are some good ideas for OUR trip to new york city?

My best friend and I are going on a 14 day trip to Pennsylvania… During our trip we our going to New York City, New York. We are only going to stay one night and are staying in Midtown I think?? Whats some suggestions on our travel (easiest and cheapest way to travel from clifton heights pa to new york new york) and stay?? Any details on the best places to eat or go out and will a florida fake id work there lol!!!
